280 Dog Years

The Holy Grail Press is dedicated to promoting work that standard publishers... you know, those with standards, might be reluctant to publish, which pretty much leaves poetry.  And let's face it:  No one publishes poetry.  So in the end, we’re left with a lot of free time.

wonk:  (noun)  often used derogatorily, a person who takes a particularly specialized interest in the minute details of a field of study, especially with politics.  You want to know about the influence of Russian immigrants on the passage of the infrastructure bill?  Then just ask Bill, he's our resident wonk.

A Disc Golf Guide to the Pacific Northwest

One of our contributing editors has finally decided to contribute something.  Michael Soetaert is writing A Disc Golf Guide to the Pacific Northwest.  Look to your left…  see the Disc Golf tab?  Yup, that’s it.  This is  a work in progress.  His goal is to play every disc golf course in the Pacific Northwest and then to write a review of those courses.  The reviews will include local history and trivia, as well as directions on finding the courses, and any other information that may be or may not be relevant, such as parks that can only be played in the summer (and there are a few), or which courses you needn’t bother to play since he has, and you can take his word for it: They’re not worth the drive!  There are a lot (both worth driving to and not).  A whole lot.  Counting every course in Washington, Oregon, British Columbia, Northwestern Montana, Western Idaho, and those two lonely courses in Northern California, there are 225.  Of those, he’s played 56.  To quote Soetaert, “Hey, it’s something to do….”
